Hey, if you think I’m that expendable, to the point where you’re not even willing to hire a new person to take over my position, and you’d rather ask the PA to take over my role, well, that’s a giant red flag that you’re waving in my face. Which makes it a good thing that I’m leaving because you guys definitely do not inspire devotion or loyalty.

And fuck, if you guys are that cheap, I don’t know what I was hoping for, and holding out for. Cheapskates, pfft, sure, I don’t do anything important, right? As long as there’s someone running the operations side and not giving you any problems or making you take charge of the operational daily tasks, you don’t care who does it, anyway. We’re just cogs in the machine to you guys, right?

Oh, and I’m sure you guys see me slacking off all the time, and think I don’t actually do anything, to which I need to reply, it’s not that there isn’t anything to do, it’s just that I finish everything really quickly. It takes me half a minute to complete each request because I know everything like the back of my hand, and I know what to look out for.

But hey, I’m sure the PA is just as efficient, no? Especially when she’s going to be covering two other people because you guys are too much of a cheapskate. Just don’t forget that there will be more shit coming down due to the reorganization and changes in other agencies.

Sixteen92; All the World’s a Stage

All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.

☾ Notes: rum-soaked apricots, dark chocolate, hazelnut liqueur, praline, amber, bourbon vanilla ☽

All the World’s A Stage is a Circle exclusive, so we all got a full size instead of the normal samples.

A boozy, dark scent, it’s not overly sweet despite the chocolate and liqueur notes listed. A bit on the roasted coffee (hazelnut’s causing it?) with a shot of mocha, with the faintest touch of vanilla and amber underneath. I don’t seem to be getting the apricots… but the whole scent kind of reminds me of a traditional Christmas pudding. (which is totally not what a pudding is supposed to be! I mean, they’re supposed to be wobbly and yellow in colour…) I also get a strong dose of honey after the initial drydown, midway into the scent, which I’m not sure if it’s perhaps the amber but my nose doesn’t know what amber is supposed to smell like, since it’s a warm sweet note.

Medium sillage, and slightly longer longevity, 4 hours give and take, but I’m not too fond of this scent. It doesn’t feel very Spring either? I think it would be good as a Winter type, since it’s so warm and chocolatey, with a slight powdery feel during the dry down.

so guess who made a haul on Book Depository thanks to the 10% off coupon?

I’m mainly excited to get the last book in the Captive Prince trilogy, though I might need to re-read the first two books to refresh my memory. Plus, Idk why but I also got Jon Richardson’s and Richard Ayoade’s memoir books, since they were pretty cheap.

Things I Love Thursday

I’m mostly thankful for the short week at work, because I’m totally not feeling it. I’m still in the new year mood, I guess… and the thought of dragging myself to office until my last day is so annoying!

Things that I’m watching now (even though I’m not done with Mikagura School Suite or Assassination Classroom… oops.)

Last Cinderella – focuses mainly on the love life of Sakura, who is trying to find love at the age of 39. She meets a handsome younger man, Hiroto at a party and is drawn to him. There is also Rintaro, Sakura’s boss and good friend. Side plots include her two good friends, Miki and Shima, who have their own issues with love and family.

Anyway, idk, but am I the only person who thinks Miura Haruma and Kazuya Kamenashi look alike?? It’s not 100% all the time, but when I’m watching Haruma play Hiroto, there are just angles where I was like, Kame-kun??

Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku – a mystery-comedy drama, where the main character, Kyoko is a private detective with a major problem. Her memory resets every time she falls asleep, which means that she needs to solve every case within a day. So far the mysteries she is hired to solve are generally straightforward and the relationship between her and her hanger-on, Yakusuke is kind of cute.

Haikyuu!! – Hinata Shouyou, upon seeing a volleyball match, is aiming to become “The Small Giant”, and joins his middle school volleyball club. After finding new members, they set out for the middle school tournament, where they’ve cross paths with a formidable school with the “King of the Upper Court”, Kageyama Tobio. Although their team lost, Shouyou is still determined to aim for the top and exact revenge on Kageyama. Upon entering high school, he recieved the biggest surprise–he and Kageyama are on the same school and club!

Yes, I’m late to the game, and no, I know absolutely nothing about volleyball other than it hurts my fucking wrists when I have to hit the ball with my wrists. Which makes no sense! But yeah, watching cute boys doesn’t hurt anything.

And duddddde, the characters are adorable! Like Hinata, the orange-haired main character, is he like an expy of cute Naruto???! Like, he’s so smiley and hyper and yet also vulnerable and so determined???

Maybe I’ll move onto Free! when I’m done with catching up with both seasons 1 and 2 of Haikyuu!!.

Now that I’m done with the first game in the Zero Escape series, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, I can move onto the next game, Virtue’s Last Reward, which has a really depressing subtitle in Japanese… Kyokugen Dasshutsu ADV: Zennin Shibou Desu; translated as “Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die / I Want To Be A Good Person”. Like, is that major foreshadowing??

But yeah, the gameplay is pretty intriguing so far, the rules are different, the game has changed, and you get to choose between listening to either the Japanese or English audio, which is a cool new function, since there wasn’t any voiced dialogue in the previous game.

So far… I think the puzzles are slightly harder but still manageable. But maybe because I haven’t gotten that far into the game yet, since I’ve only done like 3 escape rooms so far.

Last Week Tonight returns this coming Sunday! (or actually Monday, in my time zone). I’m getting my news dose with Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, but hey, John Oliver is still funny and entertaining.

Why didn’t I stumble upon this channel earlier? Because their videos are great – catchy tunes, hilarious lyrics, pretty decent singing and acting.

light at the end

Sorry to be so cliched and shit, but I feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders.

You know what, yeah, I’m irresponsible and choosy and have no real ambitions but at least I’m not going to make myself miserable because of work.

Nothing cuts deeper than knowing you’re expendable, a cog in the wheel and so easy to replace, and what do they give you at the end of your stay? Nothing worth my time or my effort. It’s not that I don’t like the place, the people are nice enough, mainly because they know you’re small fry and you don’t hinder them in office politics, they know your stay isn’t permanent anyway, and it’s easy enough to make you want to leave, and you never feel like you’re appreciated or a member of the team. Idk, maybe I expected too much or I put in too much hope when there wasn’t any to begin with.

But hey, I see the end is dawning and with at least a glimpse of that horizon, I don’t need to feel so bad anymore.

Oh yes, glorious unemployment, you’re in my cards.

living day to day.

I don’t know, how do we define a ‘happy day’?

Happiness isn’t a constant, it isn’t a given, and it’s so damn subjective.
Sometimes I wonder if I have experienced the notion of happiness before. What does euphoria feel like, is whatever joy that I’ve received a genuine outburst of emotion? Or is it a pale shadow to what true happiness feels like.

Is this why we cling onto life even when you feel everything is worthless because we have the hope that tomorrow will be a better day?

Sixteen92; A Thousand Times More Fair

Though for myself alone
I would not be ambitious in my wish
To wish myself much better, yet for you
I would be trebled twenty times myself,
A thousand times more fair, ten thousand times more rich

☾ Notes: Honeysuckle nectar, magnolia blossom, passion flower, white peach skin, ripe plum, bright vanilla bean, delicate musk ☽

Oh gosh, why is this so beautiful. Which is a weird way to describe a scent, but it is so gorgeous – fresh ripe peaches wafting out underneath a floral bouquet and a slightly sweet-sour passionfruit note. The vanilla is not obvious as the floral notes dominate the scent. It’s mostly a floral-fruity safe type of perfume you can wear for loads of different occasions.

However, the drydown was kind of disappointing. Yes, it’s a linear scent, and no, that’s not my gripe, I’m totally okay with linear scents that don’t really change much. The drydown smelled really fake and plasticky on my skin, almost like the air freshener in bathrooms and that is one of the things I can’t stand to smell.

reason #10295 why I’m broke

This special model of the New Nintendo 3DS is to be released in North America on the 20th anniversary. This bundle comes with two unique cover plates featuring the 20th anniversary logo plus the classic artwork for Charizard or Blastoise. It also comes with Red & Blue pre-installed, as well as a code for a unique New Nintendo 3DS Theme.

Yes, I don’t exactly need a new console because my current one is doing fine and I only got it at the end of 2014.
Yes, I got it on an impulsive whim…
Yes, I should have saved that money on more pragmatic purchases or just save it for rainy days.
Yes, I got it because I wanted faceplates because c’mon, I can swap the plates and change how the console looks whenever I feel like it? Damn, I’m sold.

Also, man, I’m old… because Pokemon was my childhood thing and they’re 20. Is Red like in his 30s then?
